Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine
The Dark and Hollow Places (Forest of Hands and Teeth #3) by Carrie Ryan
Publisher: Delacorte Press for Young Readers (Random House)
Publication Date: March 22, 2011
Summary from the author's website: There are many things that Annah would like to forget: the look on her sister’s face when she and Elias left her behind in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, her first glimpse of the horde as they found their way to the Dark City, the sear of the barbed wire that would scar her for life. But most of all, Annah would like to forget the morning Elias left her for the Recruiters.
Annah’s world stopped that day and she’s been waiting for him to come home ever since. Without him, her life doesn’t feel much different from that of the dead that roam the wasted city around her. Then she meets Catcher and everything feels alive again.
Except, Catcher has his own secrets -- dark, terrifying truths that link him to a past Annah’s longed to forget, and to a future too deadly to consider. And now it’s up to Annah -- can she continue to live in a world drenched in the blood of the living? Or is death the only escape from the Return’s destruction?
I loved reading both The Forest of Hands and Teeth and The Dead-Tossed Waves (books 1 and 2 in the series), so The Dark and Hollow Places is one of my most anticipated books to be published in 2011. Each book has been told from a different perspective and has been set, at least in part, in different areas, so it will be interesting to learn about Annah and the Dark City.

Great choice! I loved The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and recently read a short story she wrote for Kiss Me Deadly. I need to jump on my copy of The Dead Tossed Waves ASAP.

ReplyDeleteMy WoW Pick
I'm definitely excited for this one! Nice choice :D
ReplyDeleteI liked The Dead-Tossed Waves better than the first novel, but I'm really hoping something positive actually happens to the characters in this one. They've both kind of left me depressed after reading. So yeah, I'm looking forward to reading this one. The cover is sooo creepy.
